PUBLIC NOTICE: CITY OF ZILWAUKEE PARKS AND RECREATION
The City of Zilwaukee wishes to hear from its citizens regarding its possible submittal of a Michigan Department of Natural Resource Trust Fund Grant at a Special City Council Meeting to take place on March 20, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. The purpose of the special meeting is to discuss improvements to Riverfront Park and obligation of match monies for a proposed grant application. Any resident of the City is invited to attend. The meeting will be held at the City Hall at 319 Tittabawassee Road, Saginaw, MI. Any questions may be directed to the City Office at 989-755-0931.
Public Notice - Sewer Ordinance Amendment
The Zilwaukee City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the following amendment to Ordinance 8 – Sewer Ordinance at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5th, 2011 at the City Administration Building 319 Tittabawassee, Zilwaukee, Michigan.
Recycling
Thank you for recycling. Please remember NO plastic bags to hold newspapers. Plastic jams the rollers in the recycling centers; it is OK if the newspapers get wet out in the rain, they are still recyclable. Also, no styrofoam (egg cartons, meat trays, etc.) is accepted in our recycling.
Ordinance #48
Ordinance # 48 was passed at the September 1, 2008 Council meeting and goes into effect October 4, 2008. NO PARKING on City Streets between the hours of 2 a..m. and 6 a.m. - all year around. There is a $25 fine for leaving a vehicle on the street overnight.
Department of Public Works
If you install a sump pump in a crawl space or basement, it must not be hooked to the sanitary sewer. Copies of the Sewer Ordinance are available at the City office.
